There is no Elite game spannernick1 Is it cause of copyright why the game is not there..? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dean_Demon [2]spannernick1 Yeah the Elite franchise is still going strong so not likely it could be licenced, Frontier Developments do offer a free download version for the BBC version playable on PC & Mac on their own site. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RodimusFVC Ian Bell, the co-author of the original Elite has a webpage where he offers for download practically every version of the Original elite for free. I don't know what agreement Ian and David have or don't have... but this is a great resource for Elite lovers: [3]http://www.elitehomepage.org/archive/index.htm -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh David also give the game away free on the frontier forums so yep your good to use it with the mini [4]:) However its still illegal to make money from it by selling it or including it with a product which is probably why its not included on the Mini [5]:( Real shame as it a landmark in computer gaming .. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 Yeah I know,I have the Elite Dangerous on my PC,its brill, the first time I played it was not on a C64,it was on a Acorn Electron [6]IFrame ,its amazing how they put all that stuff into a 32k machine, they had to compress alot of it and use every byte of the BBC Model B's 32k..yep I saw the program about it,its on YouTube. They used 2 different modes on the BBCs screen so the bars at the bottom ,colour could be add it them, first game to use 2 modes on screen. So the the top part is in one mode and the navigation panel at the bottom is in another,They couldn't do that on the Electron, thats why its black and white only. The C64 version is the closes you are going to get to the BBC model B version.I have the c64 and BBC versions on tap with original packaging. Did you know..BT had a software house under the name Firebird... [7]:D Firebird published the C64 version of Elite. Thanks for letting me know. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://community.thec64.com/d/76/1 3. http://www.elitehomepage.org/archive/index.htm 6. https://www.youtube.com/embed/h1f9bhYRDPk
