Any way to add Multi-prg file games to Multidisks? dre10g For example GIJoe(multidisk) and Street Sports Basketball (multiple prg files on 1 disk) Maybe a way to make games which use multiple prg's into 1 prg file? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gurce Aah I think I know what you're after, all those extra support files for a single game make things look very cluttered in the loader menus on these multi-game disks? I think for a small-ish game it might be a bit technically challenging but possible. But with larger games it might not be possible, as when you LOAD "prgname",8,1 a prg file, this single load of the prg file needs to fit with the c64's memory (which might be 64k at best, but with kernals video memory chewing up some space there too). Maybe an alternative might be for the developers of these multi-game loader menu programs to add in an option for the disk-preparer to "hide" any prg/seq files from the menu. This way, when you share the disk with others, they can just be given a list of the startup prg of each game (rather than seeing the support files). PS. As these forums are closing soon (this friday), thought I'd better share a link to the spiritual successor to these forums, so that we can continue these discussion there: [2]http://c64minicommunity.freeforums.net -------------------------------------------------------------------------- dre10g Thanks.. should i post this question in there as well? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gurce [3]dre10g Yup sure, all fine to copy/paste this thread across -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aneira I usually shove all the extra files at the buttom of the disk. That makes it easier to navigate with a filebrowser. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jammet You likely know this, everybody, but just in-case a few people do not, when you load the file inventory of a disk the old fashioned way, and then LIST it, you can hold down CTRL to slow the list, until you see what you want, then press STOP. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- tomxp411 Yep. I did that often when writing BASIC programs. I was actually surprised when I went to the PC world and they did not have that feature. Also, don't forget to move this thread over to the new c64 community at [4]http://c64minicommunity.freeforums.net/thread/24/any-multi-file-games-multidisks -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 oh I see now..
