One of the best shooters of all time imo. Works superb with the ibuffalo pad as tapping the fire button allows for a much more responsive game and faster less tiring firing lol. Armalyte for me is the best game of the 64 on here - that's just me [2]:) Speedball 2 is ace. It might not have the replay or speech of the Amiga but it's a superb game once you get stuck into it. I managed a lovely high curled goal from the sidelines chipping the keep - ave it [3]:) IK+ - really nice to see and play it again. I always preferred the C64 version over the Amiga - no idea why. Black belt on my 3rd go on speed 3 after getting mullered before that. I have the version that allows 3 players - would be nice to get that sorted out for couch gaming - sometime down the line. 4th and inches - absolute classic if you like American Football. Rainbow Islands and Rodland. Rainbow Islands seems to stand up a bit more, I think Rodland is maybe little better/more suited to the Amiga. Football Manager - ohh wow, made me remember Kevin Toms haircut lol. What a legend that guy is! Dated as anything, but still very accessible and addictive. I have Boxing Manager and am looking forward to giving that a go as well. Manic Miner - I was never the best player, bu love the pixel perfect jumping, music and tone. Only got to the second room though - dear me lol. Emlyn Hughes International Soccer - I urge everyone to play it and do so with 5 directional kicking - this game is so good it is crazy. Back in the day I remember renaming the entire squads and team names - editing the player skills etc. This could be done for the world cup lmao. When I was a kid I recorded my games on VHS so as to have actual replays before replays ever existed haha. On which note I think the first football game that was decent that included replays was Microprose Soccer - a C64 classic I am also looking forward to playing. What about everyone else, what you playing? Maybe some comments can help stir up some memories and make us recall our own experience. Is is easy to forget great games and in posting a few experiences it might jolt some of us into going and getting said game. Please don't include any reference to obtaining games from websites - so as to keep within the sites rules. P.S How is anyone doing on Uridium? Only had two goes so far - got to the second ship before crashing lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jammet I'm not playing at the moment, but I'll probably be all over the classics I enjoyed, and then throw in some new ones. And I'm planning on buying Sams Journey. So Planet X-2, is the RTS game I'll soon finish. But I'll replay the maps again, a few of them I've played over and over again. Sams Journey, as mentioned above. I gotta get that game! It looks bloody amazing! Caren and the tangled Tentacles ... gotta try it. Looks like a fun adventure game. Newcomer .... oof. Well gotta have multi disk support. If not for the other games, then THIS. Choplifter - I adore Choplifter. vvvvvv -- I got the C64 version of the game, and it's addicting. Just very difficult. Games like Hessian from Psytronik are way up on my list as well. Look like a proper Metroidvania. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIK Ikari Warriors and Buggy Boy play surprisingly well with the official stick, not too demanding I guess. I've played some Monty on the Run via keyboard as I feel the timing of pixel perfect jumping is off with the stick. Rick Dangerous starts off well but there is a 2 block pixel perfect jump in Egypt that is almost joystick breaking because the timing is out. I've also played some Who Dares Wins II, Boulder Dash and have just been nosing about to see how others fair with the stick. One the subject of Keyboard again... Arkanoid Revenge of Doh which I think is the better of the two games on C64 was not bad on keys! The game uses port 1 for joystick player 1 so keys is the only way until I get a second stick. I did try a USB mouse just in case and it didn't work. Anyone looking to change the controls on Arkanoid RoD and have long forgot, press "K" on the title screen for Keyboard, -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aneira Currently enjoying these great games: Kikstart II Microprose Soccer One Man and His Droid Pharaoh's Curse Psycho Pigs UXB Stunt Car Racer Super Wonderboy in Monsterland Tanium To Hell and Back I dare anyone who likes horisontal shooters to test their skills with Tanium. Good luck lasting more than a minute. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 I am glad it plays all games,The C64DTV didn't cause it don't simulate the 50/60Hz timer in the C64,so you couldn't play games like Beach Head or Raid Over Moscow,so they emulated the 9v ac in the emulator too, like Vice and CCS64 do. I love that emulator, like how the menu looks part of the c64 (they are Access games but were published by US Gold in the UK,I do wish where would add UK box art for EPYX games and not America box art, hope Retro Game Ltd is listening) so I am glad they have made TheC64 Mini like this cause if it was made like the C64DTV you wouldn't of not be able to update its core.so its better it being a emulator than a simulator,I think that why Cloanto is there partner, for games and the c64 emulator. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Callagan Hello. I'm Callagan from Lille, France. I loved ; - Racing Destruction Set - REVS (I made my DIY cockpit with a paddle (with a cardboard disc around) for the wheel and a joystick (on the ground under my feet) in order to accelerate and brake (with two small pieces of wood pushing on the stick and the button, one for each foot). - Time Runner - Ghostbusters - Bruce Lee - Blue Max - ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Target renegade was awesome, does anyone remember the in game music? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroC64Dave I'm currently playing, Speedball 2, Impossible Mission, Monty on the Run. And I totally agree Jammet, Choplifter is brill, the amount of hours I put into that classic, ah C64 nostalgia. Also love Head over heals, Mikie, Knightmare, Summer games, Airwolf, Chase HQ, Rainbow islands, Robocop 2 and many other greats. I've always been a Commodore 64 gamer, at heart and always will, the memories of my youth. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- rogersyd Trolls and Trib is my go-to C64 game. But I have been unable to convert it from t64 to d64 - anyone have any tips for that? I found a few tutorials but havent gotten anything to work yet. Great Giana Sisters is another one i need to copy over. And although it was one of my favs, I still suck at Uridiam. Once the new firmware is out, Ill be replacing most of these games with trained versions [4]:) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- JeFurry I've got my mini, but haven't yet plugged it in. The games I'm most looking forward to going back to are Ghostbusters, Paradroid, Wizball, Krakout, Cauldron 1 & 2, WitchSwitch, BombJack, Laser Squad, Elite (though the BBC Micro version was better), Raid Over Moscow (if I can remember the controls), Traz, and the C64 version of Tetris with its haunting 25- minute soundtrack (a big deal at the time!). I think I'll probably spend more time just listening to music and demos, if the SID emulation is up to scratch. If the mini ever gets TAP file support, there were some great loading tunes... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- AndyF Bouldersash construction kit for me .... Have it now on a stick ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- gafmcc Leaderboard Golf The Last Ninja Manic Miner Chips Challenge Winter Games Hypersports Combat School There are so many other games that I want to play but I've got to get through these first! I'm like a kid in a sweet shop!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 I like Triad anyone remember that, and Nebulus)First time I played this was on the AtariST,AtariST reminds me of the C64,must be the boarder around the screen.. [5]:) ),Uridium,Armalyte(this game is good on my Amiga too, that where I played it first) I hope they add Stormlord... PLEASE RGL.. [6]:) Oh and Swiv is a good game and Barbarian,Nemesis and R-Type.. [7]:) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Pretty sure that stormlord was included in the 64 games and then they changed it out for boulderdash,,could be wrong but think im maybe right -------------------------------------------------------------------------- module180 Highnoon Dino Eggs Gyruss Pacland Wonderboy Skate Rock And so many more left unmentioned :-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- sid128 Great Giana Sisters The Last Ninja I & II Commando Pitstop II Wizard of Wor ;-) Bubble Bobble plus a thousand more... :-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- bossakungen Boulder Dash Head over Heels Last Ninja series Wizball Are probably my favorite ones -------------------------------------------------------------------------- trolliewallied The installed games I'm enjoying the most are: - Boulderdash - Bounder - California Games - Impossible Mission - Monty on the Run - Nebulus - Paradroid - Winter Games - World Games I've also tried (surprise, surprise!), my old guilty pleasure of "Trollie Wallie" - which worked brilliantly the first few times off the USB but now it won't get past the loading screen graphics. I've also tried loading Head Over Heels, but again it sticks at loading (although I've gone through the correct procedures). This kind of issue has been reported many times on here, so let's hope these issues get fixed soon, as I'd also like to try Wizball, Little Computer People (with a keyboard) , Re-Bounder and the wonderful Shoot -em Up Construction Kit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- johnnyhotrocks Beach Head Elite Paperboy Wonderboy Bomb Jack Monty on the Run Saboteur Spy Hunter Rockstar Ate My Hamster Head over Heels Sweevo's World Kung Fu Master Ye Ar Kung Fu IK+ Just some of the games i'm having a bast down memory lane with over the past week. Obviously some work better than others with that joystick. once the better loading system arrives i'll be visiting even more from my youth. [8]:) OH OH OH i forgot Chuckie Egg and Manic Miner LOL. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- oldskool [9]johnnyhotrocks Sweet list. Sweevo's World brings back memories. I put a crazy amount of hours into Rock Star Ate My Hamster hehe. V good list across the board. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jammet I've received my digital copy of Sams Journey yesterday, and I really hope that I will be able to properly play this on the C64 Mini soon. It's a 4 disc game, or 1 cartridge. The boxed copy is going to take a while until I get it with the post, but damn this game is amazing. Tested it in Vice and can't wait to put it on the Mini. And considering that I suck at platformers. I still got it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [10]Next Page » References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/250/19 10. https://community.thec64.com/d/250?page=2&id=250-what-games-are-you-enjoying-including-added-games [1]The C64 Community Loading... This site is best viewed in a modern browser with JavaScript enabled. What games are you enjoying - including added games? RetroBiker Ok, here goes. Ones on the Mini I've tried and enjoy: Anarchy Avenger (though I have no idea what I'm doing! [2]😆) Boulder Dash Chip's Challenge Confuzion Impossible Mission Super Cycle (natch 🏍) Ones I just don't understand 🤪: Battle Valley Everyone's a Wally Mission A.D. Skool Daze Spindizzy Star Paws Others I'm planning to get that I've enjoyed in the past: Gauntlet (someone shot the food!) Gauntlet II (that was a heroic effort!) Joust (or a clone, as I gather it never officially appeared for the C64) Not having any issues with my joystick. Not familiar with modern pads or the plethora of controllers out there to compare with, though. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh I have been playing Mercenary which I spent hours on back in the day .. I was gutted to hear that Paul Woakes passed away 15th July 2017 and although last summer although it didn't seem to hit the internet until recently ...
