The Big question Cityull I think what a lot people out there want to know is...can you play other games on the system via USB, ie transfer The file onto a USB stick and plug it straight into the thec64 and play -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hallvard could I add games from pendrive? like Last Ninja, Turrican or Creatures? FUNKYSPECTRUM For 2 dager siden you certainly can :-) [2]IFrame -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hallvard I think it is also a big question if you should go for the mini or wait for the full version... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- scroeffie [3]Hallvard but the full version is 150 ! the mini 80 if you just want something plug and play with cover art nice menu etc i would buy the menu maybe they wil even have a nice background music like the nintendo minis -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Teebor9 Will there be C128 version. And if so will any of these be compatible with my old systems? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dutchman What is the full version? Btw what a irritating voice that Guy has on tje movie above! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- scroeffie the ful version is like a real c64 but with hdmi etc working keyboard etc et c -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ReflectedLightEntertainment It's basically full-size and supposedly it would have a working keyboard but otherwise, it is basically using same kind of underlying hardware and a C64 emulator for emulating the C64. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OZBassman I think I have missed something. After reading posts here. Am I to now believe that the keyboard on the Mini is non-functioning. Is it only for decoration? Kind regards, Paul. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- c64mini [4]OZBassman Yes, the keyboard is non-functional. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lordling [5]OZBassman Yes, this has always been the way with the mini, in all the communication... I guess adding a working keyboard to a device with 64 licensed games would just put the cost up too high. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OZBassman Thank you for the feedback about the keyboard. I have another question. As I prepare for the arrival of my new C64 Mini. I believe that the power supply requirement is for a USB power supply. I am making an assumption. I believe this would be a 5 volt power supply. But what wattage please. I am contemplating to use an Apple USB power supply. Kind regards, Paul. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- c64mini you don't really have to worry about watts. Important is volts and max amps, since watt = volts*amps. I'm pretty sure the theC64 won't draw more than around 2 amps, so you'l be fine with a standard phone charger. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marceli What about SD card slot? Is it possible... in future o/c? Is it possible to play games f.e. on 4 discs - Pirates! etc? What will I should do to play ACE, or another "simulator" witch uses keyboard? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Yeah what if I need an sd card for extra games and want to play 2 player or need a joystick and keyboard plugged in for certain games also, just having two usb ports it shockingly limited especially considering the keyboard on the mini is just for show, -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass [6]Goclastninja Yeah what if I need an sd card for extra games and want to play 2 player or need a joystick and keyboard plugged in for certain games also, just having two usb ports it shockingly limited especially considering the keyboard on the mini is just for show, How about this ... There are cheaper ones but you get the idea .. Or just get a SNES Mini with only 20 games and see just how lucky we really are [7]:) [] [8]IFrame [9][1] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 "USB power lead Packaging does not include AC Adapter" It don't come with AC adapter,I hope its a DC adapter, cos It will blow with a AC one... [10]:) Do you power it with a charging adapter,DC5v 2a..? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [11]spannernick1 As mentioned elsewhere, the device comes with a USB cable for power. Use any USB power adapter. As others have suggested, most modern TVs have a USB slot which is powered and ought to provide the juice necessary. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OZBassman Do you require a keyboard to use/play with the Mini? Or is the keyboard only required for programming in Basic? If you require a keyboard? Could somebody please supply a link to one? I am not sure which one I should purchase or which will be compatible? Kind regards, Paul. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [12]OZBassman Any USB keyboard should be fine. It looks like the Mini is designed to play all the games with just the joystick. They have extra buttons on it mapped to keyboard keys for each game to ensure that you can access all the functionality you really need. There's also a virtual keyboard which can enable you to type in using the joystick. It looks like you only really need a keyboard if you're going to use it as a real C64. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- blackrh To use an SD card try a USB to SD Card adapter, such as [13]IFrame -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [14]Next Page » References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://www.youtube.com/embed/fNuw5Jma2Gs 3. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/3 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/10 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/10 6. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/16 8. https://ws-eu.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=GB&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=_&marketplace=amazon®ion=GB&asins=B00JX1ZS5O&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true 9. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O%5B1 11. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/18 12. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/20 13. https://ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=_&marketplace=amazon®ion=US&asins=B0046TJG1U&show_border=true&link_opens_in_new_window=true 14. https://community.thec64.com/d/22?page=2&id=22-the-big-question [1]The C64 Community Loading... I assume all the games have been selected, in part, as they work with the supplied joystick as seamlessly as possible. As anyone who wants to load up more games will need a keyboard, you'll then obviously have a keyboard if it is needed to play them! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dean_Demon [4]MarcG Yes all games would have been selected by now and it's almost 99% certain you will need a functioning keyboard to run additional games. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [5]« Previous Page References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/20 3. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/22 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/22/23 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/22?page=1&id=22-the-big-question
