The Joystick is a copy of the Competition Pro 5000 spannernick1 It's pretty close.. but TheC64 Joystick is a clone of the C64DTV Joystick which that is a copy of the Competition Pro 5000.. .. haaaaaa...WHAT.... [2]Competition Pro 5000 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- LucianDK Sensitive?! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gab75 ... with the "little" difference that the Competition Pro was a micro-switch joystick! [3];) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja I still have that stick and the box it came in -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Im selling off all my old stuff have hundreds of boxed tape games full price and budget, hundreds of amiga games and a500s,600s stuff, sega saturn,ps1,2,3,hundreds of retro mags from zzap all the way up etc have no use for any of it anymore its just rotting away with me,have been selling stuff the last year still have nearly 50% still to go but its a pain taking pictures and listing on ebay, love a better way to shift it all,any ideas anyone? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- PantherUK [4]Goclastninja Send it all to me [5];) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Mate if I wasn't broke I would, genuinely just want a good home for all this stuff -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh [6]Goclastninja Mate if I wasn't broke I would, genuinely just want a good home for all this stuff Any C64;s or just software ? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Yeah have a couple of 64s had 5 sold 3 last year have an original breadbin one and the updated model from 1987 both are unboxed have so much stuff its overwhelming, used to be into collecting but life takes over and I'm happy just using emulation and the like -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh Very Interested ... Are you in the UK and do we have a PM system.. Probably not unless I'm missing it .. [7]:( -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh Oh yes we do [8]:) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Im in Dublin Ireland -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 I am going to get my Zipstick working on it tomorrow(Going to add a DB9 connector to the TheC64 Joystick),anyone know of a good USB to DB9 adapter for C64,tried my Mayflash MF Mega Drive Genesis Controller Adapter that works with my Mega CDPI and it don't work on TheC64 Mini.. dam shame.. ( -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spinal You know, that's a good idea.... Find the absolute cheapest working 8 button controller, chop it up and make an adaptor out of it... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [9]spinal Car boot springs to mind. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OG1-KENOBI I had one back in the day. All gone like so many other gaming classics I once owned. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- walnutwhip competition pro was my fave. hated those sticks where you held the base in the palm of your hand, there was a little micro switch stick on top and the fire button was a trigger button located on the base for your index finger to rest on. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram I hated these, with being left handed. [10]this -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja God I remember that stick I hated that kind of design only liked the comp pro style or the zipstick was a worthy second stick -------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIK I find Zipstick's are only good if they have the square nylon block to touch the micros like the Comp Pro, so you get an even contact on diagonals. Some Zips have a round nylon block which makes them less precise as UP might be pressed before Left/Right type of thing. I play to win, or try too and just one slip of a diagonal out of many that did work can be annoying if it takes a life. I also liked the Quickshot (or was it Quickshot pro) black and red trigger joystick which had a slide switch for "auto-fire". Although I like the look of the C64 mini joystick, I'm hoping they will make an alternative joystick C64 mini joystick available in one of the kind of designs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram I had this type as well. [11]type -------------------------------------------------------------------------- walnutwhip [12]Darbyram thats a quickshot if ever i saw one. had those types on the speccy. i actually quite like them back then. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OG1-KENOBI [13]Darbyram I must have had 4 of those. They broke so easy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- walnutwhip [14]Goclastninja probably worth something now. more than they were back then anyway lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [15]walnutwhip Sure is, and if i had a pound for everyone that was broken within weeks of people buying them. then i could retire..lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja [16]walnutwhip ill stick a pic up early next week ill dig it out check its condition -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram I have a little setup, its for my raspberry pi that i have tried on the mini basically its a box with a sanwa joystick with about 10 buttons. the buttons and sanwa work great in the menus. but when you play games everything is great apart from the left and right fuction's..would love to sort it -------------------------------------------------------------------------- MIK Anyone remember the Dazz Band Joystick? Enjoy: [17]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqmEsWiHJeM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Has anyone ever seen or know of a usb or wireless keyboard thats styled or designed like a c64 would love to find something like that for use with the mini -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [18]Goclastninja Don't think there is one. but someone made a print out of the keys and stuck them on his usb keyboard -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [19]Darbyram Don't think there is one. but someone made a print out of the keys and stuck them on his usb keyboard [20]https://community.thec64.com/d/168-keyboard-stickers But the links don't seem to work anymore so here they are again: [21]https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ExPlVvRYnlFVKDo-UzQ2t3Ws-4D0zf4D [22]https://drive.google.com/open?id=1C-Q9JYkAehZ3QOGXtbm4qMwHIRZtGQ4O -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [23]OG1-KENOBI Very easily. lol -------------------------------------------------------------------------- mf9 This one was great for Daley Thompson's Decathlon/Supertest [24]This one was great for Daley Thompson's Decathlon/Supertest -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parcival [25]mf9 This one was great for Daley Thompson's Decathlon/Supertest I had one of those - brilliant stick but I recall the buttons were a little on the soft side. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- rgvirdis [26]mf9 my all time favourite -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [27]« Previous Page [28]Next Page » References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/23 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/24 8. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/25 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/25 10. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/25 12. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/28 13. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/28 14. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/29 15. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/30 16. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/31 17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqmEsWiHJeM 18. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/36 19. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/37 20. https://community.thec64.com/d/168-keyboard-stickers 21. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ExPlVvRYnlFVKDo-UzQ2t3Ws-4D0zf4D 22. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1C-Q9JYkAehZ3QOGXtbm4qMwHIRZtGQ4O 23. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/38 25. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/42 26. https://community.thec64.com/d/217/42 27. https://community.thec64.com/d/217?page=1&id=217-the-joystick-is-a-copy-of-the-competition-pro-5000 28. https://community.thec64.com/d/217?page=3&id=217-the-joystick-is-a-copy-of-the-competition-pro-5000 [1]The C64 Community Loading... Yes, this makes sense as even the bottom of the stick is exactly the same regards screw-hole and pad position. I take it you just used the same moulding and tweaked it slightly to fit in with the C64 Mini? If only it was better quality. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- THEC64 [4]Parcival no it’s a new mold for this new version but we are looking at micro switched versions as well [5]😊[6]👍 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parcival [7]THEC64 That would be brilliant if you were to do something like that. Keep us in the loop with any developments [8] -------------------------------------------------------------------------- rgvirdis [9]mf9 my all time favourite -------------------------------------------------------------------------- bobele Interesting fact on the THEC64 Joysticks is: The longer you play them, the less garbage they do feel. Not because you get accustomed to their problems... no, they really get better. I had one that was overly stiff, almost unplayable. But after some hours doing so anyway, it is really okay. Well, I hope, it settles there now and does not feel like a dead fish after the next hours.
