Super Cycle - sticking bug chrisa1981 hey, I have been enjoying the new C64Mini for a few days, finding a real problem with Super Cycle in that once you crash you then cannot accelerate again. I dont remember this in the original but not sure if its a problem with the program, anyone else noticing similar bugs? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [2]chrisa1981 I’m not seeing that issue. I normally don’t go for screen racing games, but tried Super Cycle today and really enjoyed it. Just on level 1 and finding those barricades almost impossible to miss. But not having any problem after crashing (which I do often). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- chrisa1981 Another bug i have found is Bounder randomly returning me to the start screen near the end of level 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [3]W12MODS Haha. I’m so glad real life isn’t like Super Cycle! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [4]W12MODS I’ve never really been a gamer (I know!!) and don’t have any experience of other controllers. I got the mini for the nostalgia (I learned to code on PETs a nd prefer retro computers to modern stuff). I was, however, fond of Joust, Gauntlet and a few other games we had in college in the 80s. I’m really enjoying the experience with the mini and the joystick is much as I remember what it was like trying to play games back then, so have no problem with it as such. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- scottyhp [5]RetroBiker “Dwarf needs food bad” -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [6]scottyhp Wizard now has reflective shots! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- chrisa1981 Has anyone else had the issue with "Bounder"? starting to wonder if ive got a duff one -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Killamarshian [7]chrisa1981 My Bounder just hung when I first loaded it. It works fine now though. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- chrisa1981 ok seems to be alright after replaying tonight, neither issue seen on Bounder taking me to the home screen or SuperCycle freezing after a crash... I guess after all these years I forget how fragile these games can be. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [8]W12MODS Authentic retro experience! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [9]W12MODS No. The mini only recognises changing attached USB devices while in the carousel. You can, however, load a game, save the state in a save slot, go out of BASIC and do whatever changes you want, then go back in and reload the save slot. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 They made this game at the same time as Sega Made Hang-ON,Super Cycle is a clone of it,I use to play Hango-On on the Master System in 1987.Loved Out Run on that,Out Run is not the greatest game on the C64. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 Epxy games were US Gold games in the UK,Why no US Gold covers... [10]:( I loved US Gold games. [11]http://usgoldclub.webs.com/ I have the game cassette .. [12]:D [13]SuperCycle They are using American box art and are a british company,I guess so they don't have to have different firmware for all counties... [14]:D it makes it look like TheC64 Mini was made in the US when it was not. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Most of the games are absolutely garbage on the pre installed list, knew that buying it I would only want it for what I could add to it,id say less than 10 of them are worth playing, hope this issue of adding games is sorted properly very soon, getting very bored of the method of adding games,I would of preferred 5 or 6 top games installed instead of the filth thats on it -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 [15]Goclastninja That because most of the games are from the C64DTV,and with that we wanted to mod it so we could have are own games on it and we did. thats where Super Cycle comes from ,it on the C64DTV too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 The C64DTV was made in the UK too.well in china but designed here, like the C64 Mini. The Toy:Lobster Company Limited was a British company.. Monometer House Rectory Grove Leigh-on-Sea Essex SS9 2HN United Kingdom Paul GOUGE and Darren MELBOURNE from IRONSTONE PARTNERS LIMITED are now part of RETRO GAMES LTD with Paul Andrews was part of RETRO COMPUTERS LIMITED. There's always a connections with other companies. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [16]spannernick1 I have been looking into the C64DTV hacking scene, tried a few things but to no avail. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/1 3. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/4 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/6 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/7 6. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/8 7. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/11 8. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/15 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/10 11. http://usgoldclub.webs.com/ 15. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/22 16. https://community.thec64.com/d/183/24
