Now The C64 Mini deseves to be called The C64 Games System,C64GS spannernick1 Now this is how Commodore should of done it... [2]:D and puting the C64M into a C64GS case would be cool, but may a version of the case half the size... [3]:D [4]C64GS -------------------------------------------------------------------------- W12MODS [5]spannernick1 Commodore have missed a trick who owns the Commodore name as Retro Games do not. I would like to be on the promotion team of retro games and get games put on the USA c64 mini that the yanks know as they will have a massive hit on their hands. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- W12MODS [6]spannernick1 I swear I got a similar commodore branded joystick with my c64 In 1984 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- oldskool [7]W12MODS - Commodore as a name devolved into a legal mess due to bankruptcy and various legal nonsense. You can take it as read that there is no company doing anything with Commodore. It is just one of those ludicrous situations where nobody dare use the name and nobody will make good on it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jumpmanjr [8]W12MODS My C64 also came with these joysticks. It's the cheetah annihilator. I played my whole youth with these sticks on my c64 and at the time they seemed pretty good, but i didn't know better... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- W12MODS Actually it might have come with the C64C I bought in 1990 after my original c64 died. It was a terrible clone of a Quick shot joystick which was a terrible joystick in the first place. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- W12MODS [9]oldskool I read your mini is giving you problems mine doesn't arrive till Tuesday (I had an amazon gift card so no choice). -------------------------------------------------------------------------- oldskool [10]W12MODS I hope everything works out for everyone, but must confess I am not so confident. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- W12MODS [11]oldskool I will cut retro games some slack they can't test for everyone's different variants on TV and Input devices etc. On the joystick It should have been microswitch and I would rather not play c64 games on a pad but i will have to wait to see how mine is. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- oldskool [12]W12MODS There are more significant issues as far as I am concerned, many of which should have been accounted for. I was a games tester for Sony and I worked for a year in their peripheral testing department. I was a games designer for Gremlin and for Eidos and I designed control systems for 9/10 games, as well as user interface design. I was also an associate producer, producer and senior producer in the games industry. Lots of things here are wrong/amiss. That is not to say that effort or endeavour in the right direction has not been made or that people are not in it for the right reasons. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scorf Presumably by the time of the 64GS the cartridges had more than 16k capacity? IIRC the originals such as International Soccer were only that size. Never could see the point of the 64GS - desperately poor attempt to piggy back on the success of the Sega Master System - which was the console that really re-introduced consoles back in the UK. Remember the NES did nothing over here. Almost as flawed a machine as the CD32... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/1 6. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/1 7. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/2 8. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/3 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/5 10. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/6 11. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/7 12. https://community.thec64.com/d/170/8
