Shame last ninja, commando, way of the exploding fist, head over heels aren't on here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- tmb_steve Agree with all these, but I also want to play modern c64 games on here like Knight 'n' Grail from Psytronik. Not sure I agree with the built-in-games-only approach at all. It disallows a "scene" developing -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ReflectedLightEntertainment If they made it possible to allow you to insert your own selected D64, D71, D81 disk images then great. I am unclear whether they put impediments in the user's ability to select D64 images other than the built-in games. It's not like they were targetting longtime dedicated C64 users or the scene that have been actively using/supporting/developing for the C64 for all these years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ZetaNicco WUT? Last Ninja, Trolls and Tribulations, Bruce Lee, Barbarian, Turrican, Ghosts'n Goblins, Hunchback, Rick Dangerous? IK+ and Wizball, damn !! If you wanna tell us U made "the computer that made the history of videogame" U cannot produce a c64 without these damn games !! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anterak fully agree with ZetaNicco + Cauldron , Ghostbusters , Hero , Commando , Raimbow Islands , Uridium and Parallax Pleasssseeeeeeeee !!!!!!!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ohnhai [2]Anterak Uridium, paradroid, gribbley’s day out are all on the device so My friend Andrew is well represented. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- etamot If Koch Media want to reach the mass market of old C64 players, they have to implement the funktion of driving D64, D71, D81 direct from the USB plug in. There are many games and verry good emulators available on the net. The 64er scene allways was a scene, that cracked games. That possiblity was at least the main reasen which made C64, C128 and even Amiga hardware so great. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- TITANICBLINKY Give me games like Flimbo's Quest, Exile, Magic Land Dizzy, Turrican and Myth please ! [3]:D -------------------------------------------------------------------------- cgriff15 Flimbos Quest is the 1 game I would play for hours on end. I would buy the console just for that if it was included. Been searching for years to find an online playable version -------------------------------------------------------------------------- scroeffie they told me you can add more games it has a build in micro sd card slot ! and it does 16:9 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lordling they? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darbyram [4]Gurce [5]Gurce I like your ideas and line of thought, and I have no doubt that it will happen. Early days yet and firmware on the way. Looking at this device it could be an easy approach to get what we want. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wombstar Yes everything i have head seems to say adding your own games is possible. Quite keen on playing Gothik again, big Dizzy fan but he was much better on the Spectrum and Amstrad, although the C64 version of Kwick Snack was very different to the other versions, -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dutchman Just add all the games!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass All the games have been picked. The magic number was 64 Games included unless its changed -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dutchman Pffff what a Crap Hasn't Commodore earned enough money all those years Just add good titles instead of lame games WTF just 64 titles!! All the roms are avaible just add them All -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass [6]Dutchman All the roms are avaible just add them All How would you like them all, Alphabetical or in order of year ? If like was that simple [7]:) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dutchman Who cares just add them Look at Hyperspin Where thousands of games are on -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass [8]Dutchman Look at Hyperspin Where thousands of games are on Actually Hyperspin contains no games at all !! Its just a front end you install on your PC and you can add your own games. If you do find any pre loaded they are probably illegal and there will be no one to sue. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ReflectedLightEntertainment [9]https://community.thec64.com/d/14-commodore-emulators-available You should only need to look at the first post. It's a good starting point in connecting with the Commodore community and resources. There is most certainly a lot more resources out there but a starting point. The thread points to some emulators that can be used on your main PC, a link to some commonly used forums for Commodore 64 and other Commodore 8-bit computers that are a good point for people who have not developed technical skills in Commodore line of 8-bit computers as some of the other forums are customarlily frequented by people who have spent years developing their skills and are less open to teaching people how to program their very first computer program. There is also a link to a resource for demos and games made over the years. There are links to other resources as well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- grungyjay Can someone give us a clear and straight answer to this question..... Will we be able to play .d64 files on the C64 Mini via flash drive inthe USB port? I think it's a tie-breaker as regards buying this version or not.... We all have favourite games which are not included in the inbuilt list, my own personal favourite is FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, and would like to be able to play it on this machine.... I would seriously consider cancelling my pre-order and sticking to emulators if I cannot play ALL the games available on this machine..... Thank you -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass Well its been confirmed you can play other C64 Games via USB stick. So what does that mean ? It can only really mean .TAP, .D64, .D81, .CRT, .RP9 etc all of which are readily available. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [10]Next Page » References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/5 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/11 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/224/12 6. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/15 8. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/17 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/14-commodore-emulators-available 10. https://community.thec64.com/d/16?page=2&id=16-other-games [1]The C64 Community Loading... Other games grungyjay Well that's very good imo since most of the titles are available in that format. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- arkhenon Is there an official confirmation on this? (whether we will be able to play .d64 files on the C64 Mini) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass [2]arkhenon Is there an official confirmation on this? (whether we will be able to play .d64 files on the C64 Mini) It has been stated you can play your own games via a USB stick .. It can only be the standard formats really .. .d64, .tap etc -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kilsally Yes, would definitely like Bruce Lee, Head Over Heels, Last Nina, Commando, Rambo, Paradroid -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ohnhai [3]Anterak Uridium, paradroid, gribbley’s day out are all on the device so My friend Andrew is well represented. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- docsoft Fort Apocalypse, test drive -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cirdan65 You can add other games via the usb port. The sd is for powering the mini -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ert2018 hardball 1 and 2, ghostbusters TKO, Five A Side, Hot Wheels -------------------------------------------------------------------------- cindy_k We could make this thread go on forever. Tapper, Space Taxi, Little Computer People -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass [4]cindy_k We could make this thread go on forever. Tapper, Space Taxi, Little Computer People Problem is people are just pulling games out of the air they want on the c64 with no actual idea on reality .. You cannot just add them. The games are still copyrighted and you need permission from the original developers who may well want a substantial fee or insist on a percentage of sales. They are aware The C64 will make a lot of money and they will want their pound of flesh especially those still in business like System 3 ( Last Ninja etc ) so I wouldn't expect to many other well known games to be added any time soon .. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Does anyone remember a football management game called The Double I got it on the summit budget label,it was amazing -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dean_Demon Yes i remember the double, it was regarded as a poor man's football manager but still quite good. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- betzenberg75 It sounds really perfect to play other games on the thec64. Anyone a answer, if I can put them on the machine or only play on stick ? Want to play footballmanager an it´s so long away since I played this game last time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Does anyone think it would be possible to upload extra roms to the system storage instead of loading games from a memory stick etc as this would free up the extra port for keyboard or whatever, surely it should be possible file size would be very small measuring in kbs, what does anyone think? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- synchromesh [5]Goclastninja this would free up the extra port for keyboard These details should be coming soon but as I mentioned before this should give you extra ports [6]:) [7]https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_til?tag=_&linkCode=w00&linkId=&creativeASIN=B00JX1ZS5O -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Yeah but would the mini be able to recognize commands coming from separate devices through one port? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 [8]Goclastninja You will have to use a USB hub with a adapter,so its not powered by TheC64 Mini. But will not know until I get mine. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goclastninja Either way thanks for answering and offering help with links and the like yourself and others on this forum have been nothing but courteous and helpful,I appreciate it alot -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spinal I wonder how the c64 will know port 1 from port 2 in the case of using 2 joysticks... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- quatermass All down to the OS / Software or Firmware I'm guessing -------------------------------------------------------------------------- [9]« Previous Page References Visible links 1. https://community.thec64.com/ 2. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/23 3. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/5 4. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/30 5. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/35 7. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sabrent-4-Port-Individual-Switches-HB-UM43/dp/B00JX1ZS5O/ref=as_sl_pc_tf_til?tag=_&linkCode=w00&linkId=&creativeASIN=B00JX1ZS5O 8. https://community.thec64.com/d/16/37 9. https://community.thec64.com/d/16?page=1&id=16-other-games
