USB for kyboard/pen drive ice00 I just test around the Usb of the mini and goes into troubles: 1) I take a my C64 disk game and save to a 2GB pen drive with the given fixed name 2) I insert it into the mini and select the Basic program. 3) With joystick LOAD "$",8 but LIST gives empty disk image (maybe the pen drive was not read?) 4) I change the joystick with an external usb keyboard for typing again the commands, but keyboard did not works (the screen was with the virtual keyboard opened during this phase) 5) I swap again keyboard with joystick but joystick did not work (maybe it not reload it?) 6) I turn off the mini (it turn off correctly) as it was the only action I can do. 7) I turn on with joystick and keyboard in 8) I go into BASIC and keyboard works, so I write LOAD "$",8 with it 9) I remove joystick and put the USB pen, then execute the command and do a LIST (but image was still empty!) 10) I remove usb keyboard and add joystick again, but it not works (still not reloaded?) 11) Turn off again the mini. Maybe a screen popup information when you insert a usb peripheral could be a good help: - D64 image detected on pen drive - Joystick #1/2 detected - keyboard detected Need to experiment again tomorrow. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroBiker [2]ice00 If you check the manual, it says you need to add and remove USB devices only while in the carousel app for the change to be recognised. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroGamesLtd Hi, Just to check, is your USB memory stick formatted to FAT32? As others have said, you also need to insert the stick whilst on the HOME screen (which shows the Carousel) before you select BASIC. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ice00 Hi, I try another usb pen and now it goes. Thanks p.s the previous even if it was as FAT32 and Linux mount and use it anyway has some errors while opened in Windows! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- spannernick1 Is that the only file you can have on the USB stick, case aD64 image is only 171kb and just to use it just for that is a waste, can I put other D64s on the USB stick and rename them when I want to load one of them..? Can you get c64 basic to read like its reading a SD2IEC,if you type the load"$",8 then list it can read the sd cards root and directories, and you can mount d64 files and if you want you can load a prg file from one of the sd cards folders like a folder called Games and if it have a prg file in it called Beatch Head.prg then you can load it. I have mine connected to a USB hub and the joystick and my wireless keyboard to it and is working fine.its a remote with a keyboard underneath,I used it with a MXQ box that I don't use no more(there are crap,DONT GET ONE) but like the remote ,it's a Air Mouse cause you can use it as a mouse too here... [4]:) ),so glad I don't need to use a big keyboard..
